Now that you’re officially part of the Hunter Talent family, it’s time to kick things into high gear and get started with your representation. But hey, I bet you’re wondering, “What’s next?” Well, fret not, my friend. We’ve got your back!

Take a moment to enjoy a cheeky read through the information we’ve prepared for you. It’ll give you all the juicy details about what’s in store for the coming weeks and beyond. Get ready to embark on an exciting journey with us!

WHEN DO YOU RECEIVE THE PHOTOS?

So, when do you get those dazzling photos of yourself? Well, it will take about two weeks to edit the images. After that, we’ll receive them from the photographer and upload them for you on your online portals—Syngency and Casting Networks. Once that’s done, we’ll send you an email with a PicTime gallery featuring your rad pictures and details about the next steps. If you’re on a payment plan, remember that you’ll have to wait until full payment is made before receiving all your photos.

WHAT CAN I DO IN THE MEANTIME?

#1 Join our onboarding session.

You want to ensure you hit the ground running and have the best chance of success right? So, if you haven’t already, we highly recommend attending one of our onboarding sessions. We’ll give you all the insider tips, advice on how to stay industry-ready and you can ask our Talent Coordinator anything about your representation at the end of the session. Plus, it’s run over Zoom, so you can attend in your pjs or do the laundry in the background! We don’t mind- we’re family after all. We also offer a Q + A sessions with Hunter Talent’s director and founder, Adam Jacobs. Keep an eye on your emails and we will let you know when the next session is running. You will get a candid, straight-shooter conversation about what is happening in the industry.

#2 Gather together showreel content for your portals

Whether you are a surfer, ballet dancer, actor, or mime, casting directors will be interested in knowing about your hobbies and interests. Self-tapes of monologues or chats to cameras are also an impressive way to showcase your acting range to clients. Start doing your research in how to conduct an effective self tape- first auditions are conducted through this method. You will need to get handy at this skill set. If you need support, you can send them to casting@huntertalent.com for review and advice before uploading them to your portals.

WHAT DO I DO WHEN I GET ACCESS TO MY PORTALS?

When your photos are received, we’ll set up your portals and send you two email notifications—one from Syngency and the other from Casting Networks—with your login information. This typically takes about 2-3 weeks from your shoot.

This is where we need your support to accurately fill in important information such as height, weight, clothing size, eye and hair colour. Clients will also be interested to know about your skills, hobbies, sports, and work experiences. Upload any showreels of acting work and/or a resume of previous experience.

Once you’ve filled in both portals, shoot us an email to let us know so we can give you a virtual high-five for a job well done! And please, please, please don’t forget to mark any dates you’re unavailable for work. We don’t want to put you forward for a brief when you’re on route to Japan or at Coachella! All jokes aside, updating these two platforms is crucial. We’ve had feedback from casting directors themselves who skip talent for jobs simply because their portals aren’t complete. So, let’s make sure you stand out by having complete portals to maximise your potential.

WHAT IF I DRAMATICALLY CHANGE FROM CURRENT HEADSHOTS?

What if you undergo a dramatic transformation like a bold haircut or a face tattoo? We REALLY need to show casting directors the true reflection of what you look like now. We can’t present them with an image that appears to be from the time of the dinosaurs.

But fear not! We offer an affordable option to update your headshots at anytime. We want our Hunter Talent to feel supported and avoid spending thousands of dollars on headshots that might not meet portal requirements. We’ve seen too many instances where talent invest in expensive “Modelling Portfolios” that can’t be approved or used for our portals.

As a Hunter Talent, you’re eligible for a discounted headshot package. So don’t be shy—shoot us an email at casting@huntertalent.com.au, and we’ll provide you with the details at any time during your representation.

WHEN CAN I START WORKING?

As soon as we have all the necessary information and set up your portals, we’ll start submitting you for any suitable briefs that come our way. Once a client expresses interest in setting up an audition, we’ll notify you immediately! Well, that’s a bit of a lie—after we share some high fives around the office and do a happy dance, then we’ll give you a call. Usually, clients provide short notice for audition invitations, typically a couple of days, so be prepared! It’s worth noting that most auditions are transitioning to the virtual world, and self-tape auditions often require a submission within 24 hours.

HOW OFTEN WILL I GET WORK?

Now, onto the million-dollar question: how often will you get work? We can’t predict the future, and we can’t make any guarantees that you’ll book work. No agency can. And if they claim they can, well, they’re not reputable.

What we can guarantee is that we’ll submit you for every work opportunity that matches you. We’ll also notify you via email every time we submit you for a job, and we’ll continue to advocate for you, regardless of your immediate success. Remember, Hunter Talent is a tier one agency, and we only take on talent who we strongly believe will have opportunities. Your wins are our wins. We’re in this together.
